About me

Hi there,

Welcome to my blog! I am Ankitha. My husband and I currently live in the dessert sands, the ever changing cosmopolitan city of the Middle East – Dubai. By day, I work as the Marketing and Brand Manager for Freedom Pizza – a healthy and delicious pizzeria in Dubai. When I get back home, I try to make time for some of the things I love. Cooking is not a top priority anymore but whenever I manage to cook, I like to keep it healthy and interesting.

Having lived in the USA, we thought we would miss all the Cheesecake factories and the Chillis, but Dubai is truly the land of wonders or as my hub says, East meets West. Despite Dubai being a foodie heaven, where on the one hand we have places that cater to the uber rich we also have little gems that serve the most amazing food, my husband still loves to have his South-Indian fix for the dayHe is very much a foodaholic (and my faithful guinea pig) but he was quite averse to trying out new things until we met. Now, he tries EVERYTHING (I like to gloat that I had a little something to do with that ;)).

Just like Chef Gusteau in the movie Ratatouille, I believe anyone can cook – all you need is a little patience and some creativity. I have been meaning to start my own blog for a while now, where I get to share my fun (and sometimes tedious) experiences in the kitchen. When I was a little girl, I loved to watch my maternal grand-mom cook. She was truly the best cook I knew and she passed on her skills to my mom. They are my inspiration in the kitchen.

Growing up in a Tam-bram household never curbed my need to try out different cuisines or learn new techniques to cook traditional recipes. This blog has a mix of both traditional recipes and recipes that I have created from scratch.

Again, thanks for visiting my blog! If you enjoyed it, please share, leave a comment or subscribe. ( I’m in constant need of validation… so this keeps me from questioning my self worth and crying into a box of chocolate) If for some reason you did not enjoy the post, please do leave me your feedback. 🙂

Happy cooking!

  3. Dear Ankit. Very nice blog. Amazing efforts. And what an amazing transition from a small lovable child Holding my hand to a mature world citizen and loving wife. Reminiscing the days when you threw the school bag into the couch and go to kitchen and Ammamma straight. Mention of her took me back to those old wonderful days. Thatha.
